Hi, I’m Tawny.

A woman with long blonde hair, lightly styled, wearing a gray cardigan, smiling, standing against a plain off-white wall.

I’ve been working in mental health in Calgary since 2014, and began practicing as a psychologist three years ago. Over that time, I’ve supported children, adolescents, adults, and families across clinical settings, schools, public health organizations, and private practice.

Today I practice at Park Psychology – a Mental Health Collective.

My Background

  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology – 2014

  • Master of Counselling – University of Calgary (2021)

My approach

My approach is rooted in humanistic psychology, which focuses on understanding each person’s unique experiences and perspective.

I aim to create a counselling relationship that feels compassionate, genuine, and accepting. From that foundation, we can explore challenges, build insight, recognize strengths, and move forward in ways that feel meaningful to you.

I draw from several therapeutic approaches depending on each client’s needs, including:

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Attachment Theory

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Additional Training

Over time, I’ve continued to deepen my work through additional training in areas that often come up in people’s lives. These approaches help me tailor our work together depending on what you’re going through and what feels most supportive for you.

  • Working with narcissistic relationship dynamics

  • Grief courses and workshops with David Kessler

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) for grief and loss

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for trauma

  • Treating the psychological impact of infertility
